What We Do
Hope Arrives is unique in the non-profit world. Many non-profits provide specific needs such as food, clothes, or clean water. Hope Arrives can meet a wide array of needs and is able to quickly turn donations into meeting needs, often the day of. I have often given to an organization and when I click the button I think, “well, I hope this gets to those who need it”. That is not the case with Hope Arrives.
Hope Arrives allows people to choose, in detail, how they want to give. In other words, if you want to buy a family a set of tires for their car, you can donate to Hope Arrives, we will make it happen and you can write it off on your taxes. It is a very simple concept, and we are a very safe place for you to trust where your money is going. You get to watch it come in, get confirmation the need has been met, and get a tax receipt. If you want to supply a need but want to remain anonymous, you can also do that.
Why We Started
In 2013 a young man named TJ Rickey was starting college. He was exceptionally smart and was raised by a single mother with no support from his father. His car died, and he needed another one to get him to and from work. Otherwise, he rode his bike to classes. He was attending South Alabama on a partial scholarship playing the trombone, double majoring in biology and chemistry. The week before his car died, I bought a larger used vehicle for myself. I decided to give TJ my Mazda3. I approached several churches and asked them if they would help me with a tax write-off by running it through their non-profit tax ID. Not one church would help me. I still gave him the vehicle, worth over 5k. This situation lit a fire in me, and at that moment I decided to start my own non-profit organization.
TJ’s Sister and Eliska.

Testimonials
In 2016 after graduating high school I started working full time at VetCare Of Calera while also taking classes at Jeff State college in Clanton. At the time I did not have a vehicle of my own and was paying out of pocket for school which made it hard for me to afford a car payment and insurance. I was raised by a single mother who worked so hard to provide everything she could for my brother and I. I felt so defeated knowing I was doing everything I could to try and build a better future for myself. I reached out to Eliska who did not hesitate to do everything in her power to help me get a vehicle to go back and forth from school to work and home. I will forever be so grateful for the kindness and grace I was shown through this entire experience. I am still working part time at the Vet while pursuing my dreams of becoming a nurse, however, without the donation I am not sure any of this would have been possible.
